The results of a new survey conducted by the National
Association of REALTORS (NAR) show that Americans overwhelmingly view
their home purchase as a good investment, despite the currently
unfavorable market conditions. The majority of buyers polled in August -
who had purchased a residence within the previous 12 months - said they
intended to remain in place for at least seven years, and many expressed
confidence that their investment would perform as well as the stock
market or even top it.
